Love, the future Mr. and Mrs. Brown!
Our love story begins in the midst of a global pandemic,
Leon and I met through online dating right before the COVID quarantine time. And for anyone who has ever tried online dating…its tough. He was the first to reach out and he started with a compliment “Good Morning Beautiful” to which I replied, “Good Morning Handsome.”
We chatted online for quite some time before he FINALLY asked for my number.
We moved to text, and then talking and then, Facetiming.
Once we started Facetiming, we were inseparable. We would Facetime all throughout the day and even fall asleep on Facetime at night. We talked about everything under the sun, our past, the challenges, our successes, and our future.
Once we finally met in person it solidified all the thoughts and feelings of Love that I have for him. After meeting in person, we started spending every weekend together.
We were and truly are inseparable.
Bianca and I met online through one of the many infamous dating apps.
At the time, I was not looking to date but get to know people. I would check the app, from time to time, but never thought anything of it. One day I was on the app, browsing through the list of people, and decided to expand my search.
Usually, I would look at matches locally, but for some reason that day, I extended the search to Sacramento. While the names were popping up, I noticed this beautiful lady, with an incredible smile.
As soon as I clicked on her name and read the information on her page, I knew I had to get to know her. As soon as the first message was sent, we took off running. It was like a dream, we went from messaging to texting to being on the phone, to being on Facetime (thank you Apple). We would spend hours talking about everything under the sun, and I knew I could not get enough of this amazing woman.
When the day came when we finally met in person, I knew she was the one for me.
Leon proposed in September of 2020 in Napa, CA
Leon has actually proposed a few times before the “official” proposal.
He would get my attention, hold my hands, and look into my eyes and say,
“you should marry me, girl!”
This usually happened after a homemade breakfast of grits, eggs, turkey sausage, and coffee, OR, a homemade dinner.
And for those of you that know me, I don’t cook often but there was something about him that made and continues to make me want to step out of my comfort zone. He always tells me how much he loves me and how much little gestures mean to him. How my open communication has been continued to be a blessing and something new for him.
On our official engagement day, Leon and I went to Napa with the goal of getting out of the house, seeing sites, and spending time together.
Clearly, his goal was a little different.
While we were driving, Leon was telling me how much he loves me and how much I mean to him, which is not at all abnormal. We talked about our future and goals and where we want to be as a couple.
Once we arrived in Napa, we went for a walk around a park/picnic area. There, as he looked around to see who was watching, Leon got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
My answer, of course, was YES!
So, I'll be honest, I may have unofficially proposed multiple times.
As it has been told to me “when you, you know.”
I knew that instead of getting on one knee multiple times, it was time for me to make this thing official.
I knew I wanted to make it special, so I decided to take her to Napa.
I went to school outside of Napa, so I knew all the little spots that would be available to us.
When we arrived in Napa, my hands were already sweaty. I have always pictured myself proposing to her, but it was starting to become real.
I remembered this little park next to the community college that sat next to the golf course.
I was hoping no one was around, but I was willing to get on one knee regardless.
When we started walking, I grabbed her hand, got on one knee, and poured my heart out to her.
I asked her the famous line:
“Will you marry me?”
And she immediately said YES!
I will say, that day may be one of the greatest days of my life. I cannot wait till she's officially Mrs. Brown in 2021.
